General Information

Where does PLAY19 take place?
All places of PLAY19 – Creative Gaming Festival are close to Hamburg main central station.

Where can I find the festival HQ?
The festival headquearters are located at the Markthalle (Klosterwall 11). Only a few minutes from Hamburg main central station.

Is there an age limit for PLAY19?
Generally, everyone is welcome at PLAY19! Some events, like the PLAY exhibition or Monster Lab, can be discovered together. For everything else, we recommend to be at least 13 years old in order to comprehend the festival in its entirety.

Will visitors be filmed and/or photographed?
A photographer and film crew will be present, in order to document the festival with images and videos. After the festival, the material will be used and published for PR purposes and project documentation.

Of course, you can inform our photographer and film crew anytime, if you do not like to be photographed or filmed. Furthermore, you have the right to revoke the use of images that have already been taken. Please contact info[@]playfestival.de.

Tickets

Where can I purchase tickets during the festival?

Please visit the festival HQ. The team will be happy to help!

Opening hours for purchasing tickets:
– Thursday: 6pm-7.30pm
– Friday: 9am-8pm
– Saturday: 9am-8pm
– Sunday: 11:30am-5pm (in Barlach Halle K)

What kind of tickets do you have and how much do they cost?
– Festival pass (for all four festival days) // 25 Euro
– One day festival ticket (for one day only) // 10 Euro
– One day festival ticket with discount* (for one day only) // 6 Euro
– school classes (for one class with up to 25 people, one day only) // 120 Euro

Entry for children up to 10 years free of charge!

*Discounts are only valid for students (school or university),  apprentices, those receiving social welfare benefits, disabled people, and retirees. According proof must be provided.

Where can I obtain my pre-ordered tickets?
Pre-ordered tickets can be obtained November 14-17, 2019 at the festival HQ.

Can and should I register for individual events of the festival beforehand?
Most of the events are conceptualized in a way that they can be visited without registration or reservation. The only expections are workshops and excursions.

You can register for a workshop or excursion 60 minutes in advance at festival HQ.

You can register for further education workshops via email.

At the festival 

I carry a lot of luggage, can I leave that anywhere?
For your stay at the Markthalle and Barlach Halle K, you can use the wardrobe at the Markthalle. There is no wardrobe at the Zentralbibliothek, but you can use lockers there.

Please mind that large purses, backpacks, and items made of glass must be left at the wardrobe.

Where can I eat and drink something at the festival?
You will be able to purchase food and beverages at the Markthalle. Take your time, have a break between events.

I am a wheelchair user. Can I attend the festival?
Unfortunately, not all places of PLAY19 are fully accessible for wheelcair users. In any case, please contact the festival HQ beforehand:  (040 5113840).

The Markthalle is not accessible. There are two elevators, which can be used when accompanied by a member  of the festival team. One elevator leads to the stage in the main hall, another one leads from the parking area behind the building to the foyer. Both elevators cannot be used with electronic wheelchairs.

The Barlach Halle K is partially accaessible. The gallery room can be accessed from the street (Klosterwall). There is one step, but the festival team will provide according support. The exhibition area itself is fully accessible.

The Zentralbibliothek is fully accessible.

Festival passes will be ready for you at the festival HQ at the Markthalle (Klosterwall 11).
